[Misasa Town] "Oshokujidokoro Kameya," an izakaya where you can enjoy seasonal Tottori ingredients | Enjoy rock oysters, white squid, and Daisen chicken.

Hello! I'm Tani, and I share information about Tottori's gourmet food.
This time, we interviewed "Oshokujidokoro Kameya," an izakaya (Japanese pub) located in the Misasa Onsen hot spring town.
Kameya is a popular izakaya (Japanese pub) enjoyed by locals as well as tourists visiting Misasa Onsen.
The appeal of this restaurant lies in its wide variety of dishes, which include seafood, grilled items, and other à la carte dishes.
This time, we enjoyed Tottori's representative summer delicacies, "rock oysters" and "white squid," as well as "Oyama chicken skewers," which allowed us to appreciate the natural flavor of the ingredients.
Access
Appearance and introspection
The restaurant has a relaxed atmosphere and is designed to accommodate everything from small group meals to larger parties.
The seating consists of one tatami room with seating for four, two tables with seating for four, and four counter seats.
The tables can be divided and used separately, making them easy to accommodate different group sizes, which is another attractive feature.
It can be used for a variety of occasions, such as family meals, drinks with friends, or dinner at Misasa Onsen.
Rock oysters (market price)
The first thing we were served was fresh rock oysters, which are in season.
*The rock oysters we received this time were from Sakazu, Ketaka-cho, but the origin may change depending on the availability of supplies.
When you open the shell, you'll find a substantial dish packed with plump, juicy meat.
They are the perfect size to enjoy in one bite, and when you put them in your mouth, the rich umami and creamy taste unique to rock oysters spreads throughout.
The accompanying grated daikon radish with chili pepper provides a refreshing accent, resulting in a rich yet clean aftertaste.
These seasonal delicacies, unique to Tottori, can only be enjoyed during the summer months.
Whole white squid sashimi (price on request) / Grilled Oyama chicken 850 yen
Next, we were served white squid from Tottori Prefecture.
It is usually served as sashimi, but they can also prepare a whole fish as a platter upon request.
The translucent flesh conveys its freshness, and a natural sweetness spreads with every bite.
In addition to sashimi, there was also fragrant seared squid accented with chili mayonnaise, making it a white squid dish that could be enjoyed to the very end.
*Please inquire in advance regarding whole-body sashimi presentations.
The last thing I had was grilled Oyama chicken.
Although it's a simple dish seasoned only with salt and pepper, one bite reveals an astonishingly rich umami flavor.
It has a rich flavor, almost as if it were cooked in butter, but that's actually the deliciousness of the fat rendered from the Oyama chicken.
By grilling the chicken in its own fat, it achieves a juicy and rich flavor.
It was a simple yet memorable dish that brought out the best in the ingredients.
Summary: This is a restaurant recommended for people like this.
Kameya is an izakaya (Japanese pub) in the Misasa Onsen hot spring town where you can easily enjoy seasonal ingredients from Tottori.
According to the owner, rather than being strongly attached to specific ingredients, they prioritize offering delicious seasonal ingredients as recommended dishes.
The appeal of this restaurant lies in being able to enjoy Tottori's unique seafood, such as the rock oysters and white squid that we had this time, as well as recommended dishes that change with the seasons.
In addition to seafood dishes, they also offer a wide variety of other dishes, including grilled items and à la carte options.
Personally, I also recommend the "Garlic Ramen," which is perfect not only as a meal but also as a finishing touch after enjoying some drinks.
