[Kurayoshi City] Authentic spice curry at Curry Bar Moon Rider

"Curry Bar Moon Rider" is quietly nestled in Moon Street, a street lined with shops whose names include the character for "moon," near the Kurayoshi White-Walled Storehouse District.
It's located in a very small alley, so look for the yellow flag with the shop's name on it.
The owner retired from the company where he had worked for over 40 years, and then opened a spice curry restaurant, a dish he had been making at home since his days as an office worker.

Appearance and introspection
Upon entering the shop, you'll find a small but very clean interior with a wood-grain design.
Posters for local events and stylish, Western-style illustrations are neatly displayed on the walls.
There are 4 counter seats and 1 table seat.
With guitars, dinosaur figurines, and other unique items, it's a stylish space that's somehow both distinctive and comfortable.
A plate with two types of curry: chicken curry and keema curry.
An easy-to-understand menu!
First, choose the curry you want to eat (chicken, keema, or a combination of both).
Next, you choose the level of spiciness and portion size (you can get a large portion for an extra 100 yen!).
I chose the lowest level of spiciness, "normal."
It had a mild spiciness, yet I was able to fully enjoy the aroma of the spices. ☺️
The rice and onions used are from Tottori Prefecture.
The chicken curry is a mild and light curry with a whole chicken drumstick in it.
Keema curry is packed with minced meat, making it a satisfying curry that delivers a full-on meaty flavor the moment you take a bite.
I highly recommend the two-item combination! ✨
Even those who don't like strong spices will find this curry easy to eat, thanks to its pleasant aroma.
For just 100 yen after your meal, you can add a delicious Indian-style yogurt.
Lassie
Whenever I eat curry, I absolutely have to have a lassi with it.
This lassi is plain flavored and apparently uses Shirabara milk.
Perhaps because of this, it's a very easy-to-drink lassi with a mild acidity and a rich, creamy milk flavor.
Summary: This is a restaurant recommended for people like this.
This restaurant serves exquisite, authentic spice curry that far exceeds expectations.
The owner is very friendly and provides a gentle, kind service.
Apparently, he became hooked on spice curry when he went to India during his student days, and even now he goes to a spice shop in Kobe to source his ingredients and makes it with meticulous care.
The curry, turmeric rice, papadum, and mukhwas (an Indian sweet served over yogurt) were all authentic and rarely found elsewhere.
It was a truly amazing curry restaurant! ☺️
I really hope you all will become captivated by it too! ✨
Thank you for the meal😋

I'm a graduate student living in Tottori Prefecture! I'm captivated by the deliciousness of Tottori's food ingredients and the warmth of its restaurants, and I share my experiences on Instagram. I especially love mackerel, Tottori Wagyu beef, and seafood, and I'm currently working part-time at a mackerel shabu-shabu restaurant. We have many international customers, and the greatest reward is being able to share the charm of Tottori with a wide range of people! My love for food is second to none! Let's work together to spread the charm of Tottori throughout Japan and the world!
